Casting News – December 2017

As another year draws to a close, King’s Bay sees some new arrivals and some returning faces — plus one significant exit. [Warning: Though we make every effort not to disclose specifics, casting news does contain some amount of spoilers for upcoming episodes.]

COMING

Henry Bishop (represented by Tristan Rogers) and Claudia Bishop (Louise Sorel): The parents of Diane and Natalie Bishop have never been seen onscreen, despite Diane having been a part of the series since nearly its debut. In Episode 904, the Bishops first appeared for a Christmas visit. They will continue to appear into 2018 on a recurring basis, as Natalie’s wedding to Jason approaches and another family secret comes to light.

Jake Gray (represented by Jon Hensley), Mia Davich Gray (Gabrielle Union), and Marcus Gray (Tequan Richmond): Matt Gray’s brother, along with his wife and son, originally appeared in November for the grand opening of Bill’s on the Pier. At that time, both Mia — formerly portrayed by Stacey Dash — and Marcus — who was born offscreen in 2007 but aged up to 15 this fall — had been “recast” with images of different performers. The family unit, who have lived in Pennsylvania for years, will soon make another appearance… and this one might be longer-term.

GOING

Danielle Taylor (represented by Kelly Rowan): Brent Taylor’s sister, who originally appeared from 1998-2001 and visited a few times before returning as a regular cast member in 2006, is the exit that was teased at the outset of 2017. Look for Danielle to depart in very early 2018, on the heels of some exciting news.

TECHNICAL UPDATE

The plug-in that we originally set up to launch pop-up character biographies on our new WordPress site has developed some significant glitches over the past few months. You might have noticed that we haven’t been linking the character bios in the most recent episodes. Efforts are underway to solve the issue and/or devise a new means of presenting the bios. Please bear with us as we attempt to sort this out — we hope to have functioning biographies soon, and we’ll be creating updates ones as soon as we do.
